Project objectives —
When BDCU joined forces with Alliance Bank in 2015, it needed to bring its branding in line with its new partner to reflect its strength as a forward-thinking, independent, local and 100% member-owned community bank.

This shift would see BDCU and its Alliance network partners move to impact investing for social enterprise as to directly benefit its local communities – Australia’s first banking group to do so.
While the bank’s services, benefits and value would change for the better within the partnership, elements of its unique identity would be retained in its alignment with the Alliance brand.

Results —
We leveraged the bank’s community-driven and contemporary DNA to strengthen its progressive and personable identity, focussed on the positive difference it brings to customers and community.

This rebrand was followed with a campaign that shared its positive impact via community investment, capturing feel-good energy with bright colours and friendly emojis designed to engage its key audience aged 34 – 49.
